Redhill’s Kitemarked Steptek Quality Red Range modified to further improve safety

Ever wondered exactly what the BSI Kitemark stands for? Yes, it signifies adherence to the highest quality and safety standards, but are you aware exactly what this entails on the part of the manufacturer?

Not only does it mean products and the manufacturing process have undergone rigorous and exhaustive testing to meet the required safety levels, it also means the product must undergo regular independent assessment on the part of the BSI to ensure it continues to meet the highest quality and safety standards.

We’re very happy to report that Redhill’s Steptek mobile safety steps was the first and is still the only range of mobile safety steps to be awarded the BSI Kitemark, which represents the absolute gold standard for quality, safety and performance.

Only those Mobile Safety Steps that display the BSI Kitemark truly conform to British Standard BS EN 131-7, but to ensure our steps continue to hold the Kitemark, they have to be validated, with routine testing taking place twice-yearly. We totally commit to this ongoing assessment, as a necessary requirement to maintain BSI quality standards, and will always take on board suggestions for product modification to further enhance safety levels.

In our recent assessment, the BSI inspectors recommended that we increase the dimensions of the base framework on our BSI Steptek range, to ensure it provided an even greater level of stability. It wasn’t a precursor to our steps continuing to hold the BSI Kitemark, it was just a suggestion, but it was one we were happy to take on board.

So, you’ll be pleased to know, our Steptek range now goes over and above BSI quality standard requirements, with a slightly enlarged platform to ensure even greater safety standards for operatives working at height.

Falling from height remains one of the biggest causes of fatality and major injury at work in the UK, accounting for around 24% of such injuries each year, and the main cause is falling off a ladder. We are very passionate about improving safety levels when working at height and are very proud that our range of Mobile Safety Steps continues to be the only range of mobile steps that meets the BSI’s exacting standards, offering an unbeatable combination of stability and mobility.

As you can see, we will do whatever it takes to enhance the safety of our products and, with the new enlarged platforms, our Mobile Safety Steps really do provide operatives with the peace of mind they are using the safest products of their kind on the market.

All of which means that, when you see the Redhill name on our Well Built In Britain range, you know it is synonymous with the highest levels of quality, safety, durability and reliability.
