We’d like to extend a warm welcome to our newest recruit, Carly Laydon, who joins Redhill as Customer Service Representative. Here, we find out a little more about Carly and what she brings to her new role.
Customer Service is a vitally important aspect of Redhill’s offering, providing the interface between customers and our production department. As we expand our production capability we are investing in our customer service provision to ensure customers benefit from a seamless experience that delivers the highest levels of reliability, efficiency and professionalism.
Having just joined the company, local girl Carly, who lives in Redditch, is currently busy getting up to speed, learning about Redhill and the requirements of her new role. At present, this involves processing daily orders, but she will soon be assisting Sophie Bates in answering emails, taking calls and generally assisting customers with quotes and order queries.
Carly is ideally qualified for the job, having previously worked as a Customer Service Agent for the National Team at Kettler GB, which involved processing orders. Prior to that, she worked in hospitality and retail.
“My background is predominantly hospitality,” she explains. “I worked in various roles at a local 4* hotel, before becoming Duty Manager, and it’s still my dream to one day own and run my own B&B. From hospitality, I moved into retail and was part of the award-winning Guest Host Team at Kingfisher Redditch. In March, I moved to an office-based environment within the Customer Service sector, freeing up my weekends to spend more time with my children.”
All this provides Carly with excellent customer-facing skills and we were delighted when she agreed to join Redhill, bringing with her a wealth of invaluable experience. “I was looking for a challenge,” she says, “and thought this new role presented the perfect opportunity not only to develop, but also to be part of a truly amazing team.”
“At Redhill, it really is all about the customer and ensuring everything runs as smoothly as possible. The team is super busy, but very friendly and determined to keep their customers happy. I already feel very welcome and already part of the team, and can’t wait for the move to our new premises.”
When not at work, Carly loves to travel and visit new places, as well as dining out, attending concerts and visiting the theatre. She also enjoys watching football, admits she is a Villa fan and is enjoying the World Cup.
It’s early days, but already Carly is settling in and making a real contribution. “I look forward to working and building relationships with all our customers and distributors, and being part of an amazing team that is really lovely to work with.”
We wish Carly all the very best in her new role, helping to fulfil the Redhill promise to put customers first, always strive for excellence and provide an exceptional range of products that are ‘well made in Britain’.
