Redhill Manufacturing has made a significant investment in their internal powder coating facility, as part of an on-going investment programme designed to increase capacity and improve efficiency of deliveries to customers.
Powder coating is a highly efficient method of applying a hard finish that is tougher than conventional paint to metals, hardware and workplace appliances. Comprising either a thermoplastic or thermoset polymer, the powder is typically applied electrostatically and then cured under heat, allowing it to flow and form a skin. Thicker coatings can be achieved than conventional liquid coatings, without running or sagging.
Thanks to Redhill Manufacturing’s investment in their internal powder coating facility, the company has now substantially increased output capacity. The process involved doubling the length of the oven to enhance both the speed of the track and improve daily capacity by over 50%, assuring customers of an even faster response and delivery.
The extension took place out of factory hours, over four weekends, ensuring that daily output was unaffected. Over the first weekend, the track was extended, during the second weekend, the powder application booth moved and over the third weekend, the new oven built. During the fourth weekend, the new oven was attached to the existing oven and commissioned.
Representing a £25k spend, the new extended powder coating facility is the latest phase of Redhill Manufacturing’s on-going investment programme, designed to increase overall manufacturing capacity and product range. This comes in response to increased orders from overseas and in the UK, and ensures that Redhill Manufacturing continues to lead the market in terms of quality, innovation, reliability and productivity.
