Well Built In Britain

Drawing on a heritage that spans six decades

Redhill products are designed and manufactured in our UK factory by our team of skilled metal workers, with the knowledge and experience to create equipment that’s built to withstand years of usage in the harshest industrial environments.

It’s a story that began three generations ago in 1977 when Eric Barnard and Ken Colley started a company making lawnmower handles and accessories at their Redditch factory. Soon their product range grew to encompass equipment aimed at the needs of industry including sack trucks and workbenches. Designed with strength, robustness and reliability at their core, the company developed a reputation for the quality of its manufacture.

Committed to the founding principles

From these strong foundations, the present day company evolved, today run by Andy Colley, following in his grandfather’s footsteps and still very much committed to the founding principles of strength and reliable performance. Continually looking for opportunities to meet market demand, the company has extended its range to encompass over 3,000 items, all ‘Well Built in Britain’ and exported to a worldwide customer base.

Nowhere better is Redhill’s commitment to manufacturing quality illustrated than in its Steptek range of mobile steps. Setting a new benchmark for industrial step safety, they were the first steps in the UK to be awarded British Standard Kitemark accreditation, recognised across the world as a symbol of excellence.

As Redhill’s success and product range has grown, the company has continued to extend its capacity with larger and more technologically advanced facilities, still UK-based, with an ongoing commitment and investment in the improvement of our team and our processes.

From strength to strength

With efficiency and capability running through its veins, Redhill has weathered adversity over recent years, drawing on the tenacity and inventiveness of its founders to emerge stronger and more resilient as time goes past. In early 2023, Redhill moved to new 52,000 sq ft premises, equipped with the very latest manufacturing systems available, marking another milestone in the company’s three-generation history and heralding a new era in its development.

Tough, reliable and efficient are words that not only describe Redhill as a company, but also its range of products, which continue to meet the most rigorous industrial demands, further cementing Redhill’s position as a leader and innovator at the forefront of metal product manufacturing in the UK.
