The annual charity event held at Ladbrook Golf Club, taking place on Sunday 2nd September, was originally introduced 34 years ago by Redhill’s founder, Eric Barnard, and is a popular event that continues to support young people with disabilities.
Redhill’s Operations Manager, Andy Colley, will be playing as part of a team, with hope of raising money and winning the Eric Barnard Trophy.
Whilst winning would be an added bonus, all participants recognise that the day is all about giving, and everyone involved appreciates how their efforts benefit the children and their families.
All money made at the event will provide a lightweight folding manual chair with power, an electric chair and a hand cycle for youngsters Rachel, Rahem, and Jacob. This brings the running total to 73 wheelchairs, 2 motorised trikes, 2 standing frames, a walker, 8 bumpers for wheelchair football and one guide dog, all donated from the money raised over the years at Ladbrook Park’s Charity AM-AM events.
Sue Shortt, Ladbrook Park’s Lady Captain, has said: “The Charity AM-AM is a very special event in the Ladbrook Park Golf Club calendar and is always well supported. The participation of so many members and guests in this day reflects their enthusiasm to help local children to achieve their goals.
It is a pleasure to be able to make some contribution this year towards assisting Jacob and Rachel with getting out and about with their families and Rehman with becoming more involved in activities and more independent.”
Redhill Manufacturing will continue to support the charity, understanding their social responsibility and wanting to give something back.
