Redhill’s move to the new premises at the beginning of the year, marked a significant milestone in our company’s history. Every month has seen the introduction of new, state-of-the-art equipment, including a sheet fibre laser, welding machines, band saw, electric press brake and more, furthering our vision to increase efficiency and make Redhill a centre of manufacturing excellence.
Now, the final phase of development is well underway, as we transform the upstairs to accommodate our production and office staff, meeting room, PPE stores and general stores, and carry out remodelling in units 14 and 15.
Unit 14
We are currently in the process of fitting new windows to the ground and first floor, as well as removing problematic asbestos. Once this is completed, we will be able to knock through the first floor and extend the welding area, giving us valuable room to house additional jigs. We will also knock through the ground floor, providing us with additional space for finished stock, along with an organised, segregated area for sheet steel components.
Unit 15
We have moved the administration and office areas into Unit 15 and built a new wall which, albeit reducing the office space slightly, enables us to claim around 5,000 sq ft of additional factory space on both the ground and first floor levels. This gives us more space for stock and despatch facilities on the ground floor, along with space on the first floor for our new powder coating plant, which is planned to be introduced in the last quarter of 2023. Once the walls have been knocked through and a new mezzanine infill has been installed, we will commence manufacture of the powder coating plant.
On a new course
Our new premises and equipment has set us on a new course for 2023, enabling us to improve levels of service to our distributor base, and giving us greater capacity to manufacture and expand our ‘Well Built in Britain’ product range.
