On 1st September 2019, Ladbrook Park Golf Club will be holding their annual Charity Am-Am, which was first introduced by our founder, Eric Barnard, 35 years ago.
This popular and consistently well-attended event is close to our hearts; for over 3 decades, members and guests have been able to come together for a fun-filled day that is centred around raising funds to benefit young people living with disabilities.
This event makes a meaningful difference to so many young people’s lives; over the years, the Charity Am-Am has provided 73 wheelchairs, 2 motorised trikes, 2 standing frames, a walker, 8 bumpers for wheelchair football and one guide dog.
This year, a tricycle, two lightweight active user manual wheelchairs and a power wheelchair will be donated to Petru, Amber, Akram and Julia, which will help these youngsters to enjoy increased levels of mobility and independence.
Following in Eric’s footsteps, his daughter Jane now organises the Charity Am-Am with the support of her husband Ken Colley and Andy and Jon, Eric’s grandchildren. It will be all- hands-on-deck on the day to ensure the event runs smoothly, and Ken, Jane, Andy and Jon will also be playing on the day with the hopes of winning the prestigious Eric Barnard trophy!
The ongoing success of the event can be attributed to so many people and it has become a real calendar highlight among the community – if you would like to get involved through donating team prizes, raffle prizes, funds or auction items, please get in touch with Jane Colley on 01564 742543.
