At Redhill, we believe that the strength of our company comes from the people who dedicate their time, energy, and expertise to helping us grow. We’re thrilled to introduce Sandra, our new HR Manager, who brings a wealth of experience and a passion for people and animals.
So, we got to know Sandra with some questions.
What is your role and responsibility at Redhill?
My role is to provide comprehensive HR services to all Redhill employees. This includes recruitment, employee relations, engagement, training and development, reward systems, and administration. In short, I ensure our people are cared for and supported throughout their careers here.
What’s your main motivation at work?
Listening to managers and employees and offering solutions and improvements. I am passionate about improving things for everyone and creating an environment where people feel valued and heard.
What led you to a career in HR?
I started working in HR as an administrator 28 years ago after relocating to the West Midlands from Liverpool. Funny enough, I originally wanted to be a mathematician, but I found my calling in HR and never looked back.
What excites you most about your new role?
Getting to know the workforce and understanding the complexities of the business. Redhill is a dynamic company, and I look forward to building meaningful relationships and contributing to our collective success.
What’s your greatest strength in this position?
I bring over 15 years of experience in manufacturing, which helps me understand the workforce’s unique challenges. This background allows me to offer practical, real-world solutions to the issues that arise.
What drew you to Redhill?
I was drawn to the fact that Redhill is a family business in the manufacturing sector. The company’s size allows me to get close to the issues and provide a more personalised and effective HR service than larger corporate environments.
What are your future career goals?
I hope to stay in my position at Redhill for at least the next 10 years and then maybe start thinking about retirement. For now, I’m excited to grow with Redhill and help shape our future together.
Outside of work, what are your hobbies and interests?
I’m passionate about animals. I have six dogs and two guinea pigs, and they keep me busy! Spending time with them is one of my greatest joys outside of work.
Sam Colley said, “We’re excited to have Sandra as part of the Redhill family and look forward to seeing the positive impact she’ll bring to the team”.
